2 Peter
For the next several weeks we will be studying together through the book of 2 Peter. It is the second letter written by the Apostle Peter to the church. In this letter, Peter clearly expresses his desire for the church: that they would "supplement their faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. (Why?) For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 1:5-8) This is Peter's desire for the church, and really it is the Lord's desire. May it be ours as well.
And so, as we study through this letter, we wanted to provide some possible tools for individuals, groups, or families that might help move us to that end. Our aim each week is to give different reflection questions and/or practices to help foster God's work in us. As Peter says, may we "be all the more diligent to confirm our calling and election, for if we practice these qualities we will never fall." (2 Peter 1:10).
